Re: Job Action by the BC General Employees’ Union and Professional Employees Association
To members of the BCGEU and PEA,
The BCIT Faculty and Staff Association extends our solidarity and support to all BCGEU and PEA members, especially those striking across British Columbia.
Your actions to achieve fair wages and a sustainable public service are a model for the public-sector union movement. Your coordinated strike action and joint picket lines across the province send a clear message: public-service workers will not be undervalued. The provincial government must provide fair compensation to ensure the continued delivery of high-quality services.
We stand in solidarity with you in this struggle and commend your commitment to each other and to the citizens of British Columbia. We encourage all British Columbians to support your efforts until a fair and just agreement is reached.
In solidarity,
Colin Jones,
President and Chief Negotiator
