Round 20, Bargaining Dispatch X: FSA Exchanges Proposal Packages with Employer
October 14, 2025
Following a quick agreement between the parties on bargaining protocols, the FSA began this round of collective agreement negotiations with the employer on October 7 and 10, 2025. During these sessions, both sides exchanged initial packages, asked clarifying questions, and, encouragingly, agreed to several housekeeping proposals.
Still, it’s clear from some of their proposals that the employer’s goals are starkly different from our own — it remains to be seen how committed to those goals the employer is. “From the packages, it looks like it may be a hard round of bargaining ahead,” said Chief Negotiator Colin Jones, adding that “the FSA’s Bargaining Team brings more than 130 years of combined experience at BCIT. We know what’s good and what’s bad — for both our members and for the Institute.”
Members can anticipate receiving bargaining updates in Weekly E-Bulletins as warranted, and they may submit inquiries related to bargaining through our Bargaining Questions and Comments form, which will be live throughout negotiations. Please note, however, that the Bargaining Team is no longer accepting proposals for new contract language.
