Honouring Truth and Reconciliation

As we reflect on the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation, we are reminded of the importance of honouring Indigenous survivors, families, and communities, while recognizing that the work of healing is ongoing. The recent, troubling presence of masked white nationalist groups taunting community members in Kamloops near the sites of former Residential Schools serves as a reminder of the hate and racism that still persist in our backyard, casting a shadow during a time intended for reflection and solidarity. Distressing events like these can understandably provoke feelings of shock, trauma, and anxiety; please remember that you do not have to process this burden alone.
