CRC Selection Process Underway

Canada Research Chair Selection Process

BCIT internal candidate information form due Nov 15, 2017

As previously announced, BCIT has an opportunity to nominate a 4th Tier 2 Canada Research Chair. In order to be eligible for consideration any interested candidates need to complete and submit the Internal CRC Applicant Information form. The form can be found at the following link in The Loop (Members only).

The completed form needs to be sent to the Institute Research Committee (IRC) c/o Tom Roemer, VP Academic by November 15th, 2017. Candidates are also invited to cc. Shannon Kelly, the Board Liaison for the FSA Caucus on Applied Research and Advanced Studies (CARAS).

Early in 2015, BCIT learned that it was eligible for a fourth Canada Research Chair (CRC). Since that time, the FSA has worked to improve the transparency of the CRC selection process. In April 2016, the FSA provided BCIT’s leadership with recommendations for a CRC selection process based on consultations with FSA members. These recommendations can be reviewed on our Member Portal (Members only).

BCIT has taken steps to improve the transparency of the CRC selection process and we look forward to continued improvements, including addressing some of the remaining recommendations from our April 2016 report. The FSA is committed to ensuring fair and open processes and will continue to engage with our members and with managers to achieve this goal.
