Retroactive Pay for Former Members and Some Working in PTS

The recently ratified BCIT/FSA collective agreement has resulted in retroactive pay for eligible employees who worked between July 1, 2022 and the date of ratification, July 13, 2023.
We have been working with BCIT to ensure that you receive any retroactive pay to which you’re entitled. However, for some employees and former employees, receiving retroactive pay will not be automatic.
Employees or former employees who were without a BCIT employment contract on July 13, 2023 (but worked after July 1, 2022) are required by BCIT to apply for retroactive pay. This includes employees who have resigned, retired, or work in Part-Time Studies (Flexible Learning) but were not employed on a contract this summer term, specifically on July 13.
The following action is required on your behalf to apply for and receive this payment.
Please contact Human Resources via email to [email protected] with a subject line including “RPR” (for Retroactive Pay Request) to assist in sorting these emails and provide the following information in the body of your email:
- A00 #
- Bargaining Unit
- Full Name (please include legal name and preferred name, if applicable)
- Current Mailing Address
- Direct deposit form (as an attachment), only if banking information is no longer active/different from what’s currently on file at BCIT
It is important that former employees and some members in PTS respond with complete details or there will be delays in the process.
Requests must be received on or before December 15, 2023.
If you know someone who’s a former member that worked between July 1, 2022 and July 13, 2023 please forward them this information.
