FSA Biennial Survey Update

What is the FSA's biennial all-member survey?
The FSA's biennial all-member survey, administered since 2017, is a vital tool for our union, providing important longitudinal data on members’ perspectives.
Insights from the 2023 survey, for example, enabled leadership and staff to identify overwork as an increasing concern and to recognize the growing significance of the Tech Rep program among our members.
When is the next survey?
Although the next iteration of our all-member survey would normally occur this coming spring/summer, the FSA will postpone the next edition until spring/summer 2026.
This timing is based on two key considerations. First, we achieved record participation in both our 2024 bargaining survey and 2023 biennial all-member survey. These surveys have provided extensive, recent data to confirm our union's direction and keep us on track. We can leverage this existing data and give our members a break from our long-form surveys.
Second, as the bargaining process moves forward, we can dedicate optimal focus and energy on bargaining priorities and the bargaining themes which were recently ratified by the membership. We will maintain clear and focused communication with our membership during this important campaign to secure the best possible contract.
We are committed to being responsive to our membership and we look forward to the next biennial survey in 2026.
