Reporting to the Learning & Teaching Centre (LTC), the PDS Coordinator position is a 50% FTE appointment, which only FSA members are eligible to hold, with compensation equivalent to the successful candidate’s current BCIT position.

From inception in the mid-1980s, with full implementation in 2003, the PDS has supported FSA faculty and staff in achieving excellence in both teaching and service.

The purpose of the PDS is to support educational excellence and instructional quality. The PDS is a support mechanism to further the work you do—assuring the best experience for students, staff, and faculty. There are four parts to the PDS that affect those who work directly and indirectly with students, and potential applicants can learn more about it by accessing the PDS Handbook.

The PDS Coordinator holds a range of responsibilities that include but are not limited to:

• Coordinating the development and the implementation of the PDS utilization and development Plans.
• Reestablishing a PDS Steering Committee.
• Refreshing and updating the Strategic Plan for the PDS, in collaboration with the PDS Steering Committee.
• Reviewing and recommending changes to the PDS and it’s related procedures.
• Making revisions to the existing manuals.
• Resolving issues regarding the implementation of the PDS.
• Developing approaches for implementing the PDS in areas where the FSA members are not yet using it.

Interested FSA members should read the PDS Coordinator role description (linked above) in its entirety and apply by submitting a resume or CV along with a short (250-500 word) cover letter detailing your interest in the position.

Applications must be submitted to [email protected] no later than 11:59PM, October 11, 2024.
