BCGEU Job Action Vote

BCIT’s Vocational Instructors, represented by the BCGEU, have voted 90% in favor of taking job action. The FSA has not taken a strike vote and continues to negotiate with the employer. The FSA will support any action taken by the BCGEU to get a fair settlement. We will respect any picket lines at BCIT. We are staying in touch with BCGEU representatives so that any job action is as well co-ordinated as possible. We understand that the Vocational Instructors bargaining unit will be going into mediation with BCIT sometime in May. No job action is anticipated before that time.
